Animal Food Aid MCO Relief - Phase 1
Phase 1 of the MCO Animal Food Aid Relief program launched by SAFM went smoothly on Saturday, 19 June 2021. A total of 100 cat food packages (dry and wet cat food) were distributed to the B40 community in Kampung Gombak Utara. The program was held in association with the Residents’ Committee Zone 1 (JKP Zone 1), a representative from the Selayang Municipal Council Zone 1, and the Gombak Utara Village Community Management Council (MPKK Gombak Utara).
The main objective of the animal food aid relief was to encourage residents to care for and feed abandoned cats in Kampung Gombak Utara. SAFM was also keen on lending a helping hand to residents who had lost their income due to the lockdown measures implemented by the Government to curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In addition, the photo e-contest held by SAFM created a buzz among residents as they were encouraged to post pictures of them feeding abandoned cats with the tag @animal.org.my. Three winners were selected and announced on 1 July 2021 via SAFM’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
Overall, the program received great feedback from the residents of Kampung Gombak Utara with the hopes of similar initiatives by SAFM in other areas.
On behalf of SAFM, we wish to express our deepest gratitude to donors and fellow Malaysians for supporting this great cause!
