SAFM Putra Heights Fire Relief Mission April 2025

On 2-6 April 2025 at Kuil Sri Maha Kaliamman in Putra Heights, Selangor, Persatuan Haiwan Terbiar Malaysia (SAFM) mobilised up to 50 members and volunteers in response to the devastating Putra Heights fire, carrying out a 5-day Search & Rescue mission for animals affected by the incident.

Mission Highlights:

• Base: Kuil Sri Maha Kaliamman

• Duration: 5 days (2–6 April)

• Team: up to 50 SAFM members & volunteers

• Rescued: 59 cats, 8 dogs & 2 pet snakes

• Partners:

 – SubangVet SS14

 – Putra Heights Veterinary Clinic

 – Ministre’ of Pets Veterinary Clinic

 – Faith Veterinary Clinic & Surgery

 – SPCA Selangor

Support by SAFM in collaboration with SPCA Selangor & Partners:

• Search & Rescue operations

• Veterinary medical treatment at partner clinics

• On-site vet booth for urgent care

• Pet food distribution

• Temporary boarding for rescued animals

• Assisting pet owners in locating missing pets

• Feeding station setup in affected areas

• Logistics coordination throughout the mission

A temporary relief center was established to ensure rescued animals received care, comfort, and essentials throughout the mission.
