Animal Flood Relief - Johor

The seasonal monsoon had caused damaging floods to areas in Peninsular Malaysia. Segamat, Johor is one of the areas that was badly affected. Persatuan Haiwan Terbiar (SAFM) had mobilised a team of 17 rescuers to Pogoh, Segamat Johor for 2 days (8 Jan – 9 Jan 2022).

Around 1,270 kg of cat and dog kibbles including 2 cat cages are distributed to pet owners in 4 villages in Segamat:
1. Kampung Chodan
2. Kampung Bukit Limau Manis
3. Kampung Bukit Senggir
4. Kampung Tekam Pogoh 3 Segamat

Food and kibbles were also distributed to stray animals around the affected area.

Other than the volunteers and members, SAFM had also deployed 5 rescue boats and 8 land vehicles for this mission. Around 50-70 pet and animal owners in each village had received the assistance given through their village chief.
